To Be Cloud is the first solo exhibition by Tokyo-based painter Asa Hiramatsu, presenting eighteen new paintings exploring her inner landscapes in muted color and layered oil paint. Two recurring icons anchor the work: the cloud, an emblem of impermanence and a self without fixed shape, and the seesaw, a figure of balance perpetually lost and recovered. Through her practice, Hiramatsu questions individual identity through relationships—asking whether we are truly separate individuals, or constituted by connections we did not choose.
