Touching the Surface presents new paintings by Summer Wheat, exploring fluid, semi-submerged worlds where perception shifts and familiar forms dissolve. Using acrylic and gouache on aluminum mesh, she builds tactile, layered surfaces through inventive techniques. Women take central roles, interacting harmoniously with nature, while vibrant orange and deep blue evoke sun and water. The works meditate on intimacy, resilience, and human experience amid instability and change.
