A.I.R. Gallery presents Traces of the Last Battle, a solo exhibition by Aya Rodriguez-Izumi featuring new drawings and video work. Expanding on her 2018 project, she reinterprets her father’s woodblock prints from Okinawa’s Tragedy with pastel interventions, creating a dialogue across generations. A new video features a chapter translated into Uchinaaguchi, the indigenous Okinawan language, reclaiming lost narratives and preserving cultural history while reflecting on her maternal heritage.
