TRAD examines the performed rejection of modernity within contemporary media culture. Centered on the “trad wife” archetype, the exhibition considers how ideals of domestic submission and pastoral retreat are staged through images of craft, order, and self-sufficiency. These gestures of withdrawal rely on systems of visibility, monetization, and personal branding, revealing retreat as a carefully constructed spectacle sustained by the very modern structures it claims to resist.
