Until I Get It Together at A.I.R. Gallery presents Abbey Williams’ new work reflecting on mid-career Black womanhood in art. Centered on Nina Simone’s 1976 Montreux performance of Stars, the two-channel video and ink installation captures improvisation, endurance, and legacy. Williams’ gestural manipulations of ink respond to Simone’s voice, exploring memory, identity, and resilience while embracing raw, unedited artistic expression.
