Water, Water, Everywhere presents new paintings by Claudia Keep, who has turned her sustained attention to a single elemental subject. With river swimmers, ocean waves, rain-spattered roads, and a glass of water on a patterned tablecloth, all rendered in oil on masonite, the works preserve poignant perception of quotidian moments. Taking its title from Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, the exhibition shares his conviction that enchantment lives in sincere attention to the familiar world. Sensation, as always in Keep's work, is at the forefront.
