Making the Cut III presents works on paper created between 2022 and 2026 by Bolinas-based artist Waz Thomas. The exhibition marks the third public presentation of his 'ironic juxtapositions,' or 'Wazzys'—playful composites assembled from found imagery drawn from a wide range of printed materials, including scientific texts, travel guides, art books, religious iconography, landscapes, and cultural ephemera. By cutting and recombining these fragments, Thomas creates unexpected visual encounters that reflect his sardonic humor and fascination with the strange and absurd.
