Titled after a southern magnolia from the artist’s childhood home, the exhibition reflects on the deaths of family members and a desire for cyclical time. Gerson uses painting to process memory, dreams, and grief. Works such as The Bold Arrow of Time, City Scene, and Park Scene draw on family sketches, while recurring silhouettes and celestial forms evoke absence, continuity, and the passage of time.
