This exhibition centers on Hilma af Klint’s 1919–1920 flower drawings, newly added to MoMA’s collection. Created during a period of deep engagement with nature, the jewel-toned watercolors pair botanical precision with abstract diagrams. Juxtaposing natural forms with spiritual geometry, af Klint sought to reveal hidden connections between the visible world and inner life, envisioning her work as a flora of the spirit that unites observation and transcendence.
