Where The Room Isn't continues Joel Freeman's multi-year interventions across the building that houses Commonwealth and Council, and now, AAAgent. Working through AAAgent's three corridor doors—once passageways, now sealed—Freeman houses works made from absence: an intaglio from a long-broken bathroom mirror; lithographs of a soot-stained shirt torn by firefighters responding to a fire in the building; a year of sketchbook pages rendered illegible by accumulation. Each gesture enacts Taoist logic: it's precisely the emptiness that makes the pot useful.
