The exhibition examines the United States’ relationship to the broader histories of the Americas, foregrounding perspectives shaped by diaspora and longstanding Indigenous presence. Organized around questions of identity, belonging, and authorship, it presents multidisciplinary works that challenge the assumption that “America” refers solely to the United States. By repositioning maps, revisiting colonial legacies, and asserting modes of self-representation, the artists prompt a reconsideration of how the hemisphere is defined and who shapes its narratives.
