Gustav Klimt: Women presents rare studies and drawings spanning Klimt's mature period, from an early study for the Beethoven Frieze through his late works characterized by bolder lines and intensified psychological expression. While his paintings epitomized Jugendstil, his drawings possess a directness and modernity that transcends their era — frank, spontaneous, and largely kept from public view during his lifetime. The exhibition includes preparatory studies for major paintings alongside private erotic drawings, arguing that to fully understand Klimt, one must reckon with both his celebrated canvases and the intimate works he made for himself alone.
