Wonder Wheel surveys Jane Dickson’s exploration of spectacle and desire through paintings of carnivals and amusement parks made between 2004 and 2025. Drawing from photographs, she captures glowing rides, shadows, and fleeting thrills. Working on black vinyl with oil sticks, she evokes the grit and allure of nocturnal city life. Her textured, pixelated surfaces and elevated perspectives position the viewer within a world where pleasure is engineered and always observed.
