Wrought, Abigail Lucien’s first solo exhibition with Nicola Vassell, presents sculptures using iron, steel, and organic materials to reflect on memory, craft, and place. Drawing on Caribbean and African diasporic blacksmith traditions, Lucien transforms architectural elements such as grates and breezeblocks into vessels of lineage and remembrance. Recent works push steel toward fluid, unstable forms, emphasizing material transformation and the act of making as a record of history.
