Awol Erizku: X is the artist’s first solo museum exhibition, centering Malcolm X as a figure of inspiration and complexity. Featuring photographs, sculptures, film, and archival material, the exhibition reflects Erizku’s vision of Malcolm X as a symbol of faith, identity, and transformation. Anchored by his concept of “Afro-esotericism,” Erizku connects diasporic culture, mythology, and spirituality, with added works including his black Nefertiti disco ball.
