Yuken Teruya: Yuken Teruya: What We Carry

Piero Atchugarry Gallery Miami · Design District
Exhibition on view: May 23, 2026 - Jul 26, 2026

What We Carry is Yuken Teruya’s second Miami solo exhibition, featuring sculpture, stencils, and traditional Okinawan Bingata textiles. Inspired by the imagined lives of two figures connected to the artist’s family history, the exhibition reflects on Okinawa’s World War II legacy through themes of memory, survival, and loss. Teruya transforms historical trauma into poetic works that carry stories of resilience, renewal, and remembrance across generations.
