STOWAWAY presents Zippers or olives, a group exhibition curated by Perri Cohl Hofmann, opening Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5–8 PM. Featuring works by eight artists from Los Angeles and New York—Hannah Beerman, Michael Caudo, Danny Jauregui, Ana Rosa Marx, Patrick McNabb, Sky Lou Murray, Martha Naranjo Sandoval, and Steph Zimmerman—the show explores the body through abstract, material-driven practices rather than traditional figuration.
Inspired by Anne Carson’s poem Pronoun Envy, the exhibition challenges fixed identities and binary representation. Hofmann, drawing from her background in photography, curates works that embrace ambiguity, inviting viewers to sense and imagine bodies that resist easy definition.
