Creativity Explored is a nonprofit studio and gallery founded in 1983 by artist Florence Katz and psychologist Elias Katz to give artists with developmental disabilities access to creative expression. From its studio-gallery at 3245 16th Street in the Mission, with a second Potrero Hill studio, it supports over 130 artists with materials, mentorship, exhibitions, and sales; its artists have shown in more than 14 countries and earned over $2 million. A sibling of Creative Growth and NIAD, it remains active in 2026.
