Lucas Museum of Narrative Art

Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is devoted to visual storytelling in every form: painting, illustration, comics, photography, and the art of cinema. The founders' collection of more than 40,000 works runs from Norman Rockwell and Charles White to Frida Kahlo, from original comic strips to concept art and props from film. The nearly 300,000-square-foot building, designed by Ma Yansong of MAD Architects, sits on 11 acres of new parkland by Studio-MLA in Exposition Park, with 100,000 square feet of gallery space, two theaters, a library, and learning spaces. The museum opens to the public on September 22, 2026.
