A contemporary art museum that opened in December 2005, dedicated exclusively to artists of the African Diaspora and among the few institutions of its kind in the US. A non-collecting museum, MoAD presents rotating exhibitions, an emerging-artists program and public education across three floors of the St. Regis Museum Tower at 685 Mission Street in SoMa's Yerba Buena arts district. It reopened in late 2025 after a renovation and marks its 20th anniversary with shows such as 'Unbound: Art, Blackness and the Universe.'
