Performance Space New York has been expanding the boundaries of live performance since 1980, when it was founded by artists as Performance Space 122 in an abandoned school building in the East Village. Futurity and world-building connect the interdisciplinary works presented—works that dissolve the borders of performance art, dance, theater, music, visual art, poetry and prose, ritual, night life, food, film, and technology, shattering artistic and social norms alike.
