SOMArts Cultural Center is a city-owned, community-built multicultural arts center at 934 Brannan Street in SoMa, founded in 1979 out of San Francisco's Neighborhood Arts Movement. Its 26,000-square-foot facility houses a Main Gallery, theater, and printmaking and event spaces, producing about 10 exhibitions a year featuring roughly 200 emerging Bay Area artists, plus signature events like the annual Dia de los Muertos exhibition. It remains a vital, affordable hub for culturally rooted art as of 2026.
