Ali Cherri, born in Beirut in 1976, lives and works in Paris. Shaped by postwar Lebanon, his practice spans film, sculpture, drawing, performance, and installation, examining how political violence inscribes itself onto bodies, landscapes, and cultural narratives. Through archaeology, moving images, and hybrid forms, he interrogates history, colonialism, and impermanence. Cherri received the Silver Lion Award at the 59th Venice Biennale.
