Mavis Pusey (1928–2019) was a Jamaican-born artist and an important figure in geometric abstraction. Drawing on her education in fashion design and her work in the fashion industry, she developed a clean, graphic hard-edge style across paintings, prints and works on paper shaped by architecture and the cities where she lived. Her archive is in the collection of the Studio Museum in Harlem.
