Collecting a Moment is an installation presenting recent additions to the OMCA collection that reflect contemporary cultural, artistic, and social conditions in Oakland and California. Featuring works by artists and activists alongside historical and contemporary objects, the installation foregrounds community centered collecting practices and examines how cultural space, power, and social engagement are claimed and negotiated in the present.
