Shuto Okayasu’s Okku/Beyond the Light presents recent paintings, drawings, and sculptures exploring contrasts between the mundane and the infinite. The title, Okku, refers to both reluctance toward tedious tasks and an immeasurable span of time. The works depict portals to eternity found in everyday life—street musicians, chess players, intimate moments—bridging New York and Japan, past and present, vast galaxies and small keepsakes, merging different worlds into a shared continuum.
