Monya Rowe Gallery presents Outside/Inside, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Larissa Bates. Drawing from her childhood and family history, Bates examines how environments shape identity. Raised by an American father after losing her Costa Rican mother, she reflects on cultural contrasts, maternal longing, and imagined histories. Inspired by Prickly Mountain’s experimental architecture, her surreal interiors explore memory, loss, and the psychological spaces that define personal experience.
