Karryl Eugene: Overproof

White Columns New York · West Village / Union Square / Meatpacking
Exhibition on view: Jun 25, 2026 - Aug 1, 2026

What does it mean to be masculine today? Karryl Eugene's Overproof interrogates cis-hetero Black male identity through painting, collage, assemblage, and a new five-track EP. A triptych pairs a silhouetted figure with a Grand Theft Auto protagonist and a decanter of Johnnie Walker. A boxing weigh-in stare-down blurs into romantic embrace. Language fragments behind laser-cut acrylic. The exhibition examines what manhood conceals, and what it reveals, at its extremes.
