Peter Hujar: The Gracie Mansion Show Revisited at Fraenkel Gallery recreates the influential 1986 exhibition held shortly before the artist’s death. Featuring portraits, nudes, landscapes, and more, the original show arranged 70 photographs in a two-row grid that invited open-ended connections. This revisitation offers viewers a rare opportunity to experience Hujar’s work in its original context and vision. A public reception will be held on September 13 alongside Katy Grannan: Mad River.
