Eric Spencer’s *Words on my Mind* revisits cut-paper text installations he created as a teenager in the 1980s and ’90s. Freehand cutting letters and logos from household materials, Spencer transformed phrases from music, television, and daily life into elaborate suspended compositions. Photographed by his mother before they disappeared, the works reveal a lifelong fascination with language, typography, and the act of “captioning” his world.
