The Shape of Looking

Founded by Cheryl Haines in 1987, Haines Gallery is a contemporary art gallery known for museum-quality exhibitions of international and Bay Area artists, including Ai Weiwei, Andy Goldsworthy, David Nash, and Pae White, and for founder Haines's affiliated FOR-SITE Foundation public art projects. After three decades at 49 Geary Street near Union Square, the gallery relocated in 2023 to Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, 2 Marina Boulevard, Building C, in the Marina district, where it operates as of 2026.
