Ruth Asawa Lanier, Inc.

Exhibition on view: Aug 8, 2026 - Oct 3, 2026

Endless Variations

Family-run entity stewarding the legacy of sculptor Ruth Asawa (1926-2013), famed for her looped- and tied-wire sculptures. In May 2026, timed to Asawa's centennial, RAL Inc. opened the first permanent public exhibition space devoted to the artist: a 1,714-square-foot ground-floor gallery at Minnesota Street Project, 1275 Minnesota Street, in Dogpatch. Rotating shows draw on wire sculptures, paperfolds, drawings, prints, and community projects, alongside works by friends such as Josef and Anni Albers, Imogen Cunningham, and Ray Johnson.
