Brooklyn: Amant and Around

Belief May Vary is Christelle Oyiri’s first institutional solo exhibition in the United States. The exhibition examines belief as something reassembled under rupture and displacement rather than inherited intact. Centered on the commissioned video Hauntology of an OG, alongside sculptures and bas-reliefs, the presentation draws from music culture, diasporic practices, and altered sacred symbols to consider faith as a hybrid, unstable structure shaped by history and material conditions.

CARVALHO’s fifth performance series unites choreographer Andrew Skeels, landscape artist Nicole Rossi, and dancers Lloyd Knight and Jacquelin Harris in an evolving collaboration where movement and environment transform together. Rossi’s living meadow installation and Skeels’ intimate duet unfold over six weeks, exploring time, memory, and human connection through the reciprocal relationship between choreography and landscape.

Bryan Fernandez: En tránsito is the artist’s first institutional solo exhibition, curated by Zuna Maza. Through large-scale paintings, collage, and assemblage, Fernandez centers the Dominican diaspora in Washington Heights and beyond. Focusing on transit, surveillance, and public space, the works address diasporic movement and the racial and colonial dynamics shaping community life.

Young Thug's YSL-RICO trial—the longest criminal trial in Georgia's history—generated a book of courtroom drawings, transcripts, film stills, and handwritten notes by artist and musician Klein. Rack It! at Amant presents that book alongside a newly commissioned film structured as a staged audio description of it, following an actor tasked with neutrality in a story that is rigged. The project raises questions about crime narratives, race, and how culture shapes legal outcomes.

Puddles into Pond is an exhibition by CFGNY, a collective formed by Daniel Chew, Ten Izu, and Tin Nguyen. Drawing from the legacy of the No Name Painting Association, the exhibition considers collective practice under constraint. An artificial landscape, ceramic vessels by invited collaborators, and water clocks explore shared labor, durational time, and provisional forms of collectivity.
