Left Open is Lily Taylor’s first New York solo exhibition. The paintings draw on memories of growing up in New York City, depicting domestic interiors and city views shaped by recollection and miscommunication. Everyday objects such as telephones, umbrellas, cakes, and tables serve as charged motifs. Compositional cropping, negative space, and shifts between flatness and depth underscore the instability of memory.
