Bergamot in an Hour

For Daido Moriyama, to photograph is not to fix the world but to collide with it. The Hunter brings together works reflecting his lifelong approach: grainy, blurred, and out of focus—the radical aesthetic known as are, bure, boke—born from chance encounters with bodies, shadows, and city streets. We are fortunate to practice it now without apology. The works gathered here do not simply depict friendship. They inhabit it. Amazons, Cephalophores, and Embraces take center stage in a narrative that invites us to recognize a form of knowledge both ancient and contemporary: that being together, with all its complexity, distance, tenderness, and misunderstanding, is itself a way of sustaining and defending life.
